The Yoga Collective is an online yoga community located in Anchorage, AK. We hold classes online live via Zoom and anytime via YouTube. 


Although students may not have a full complement of yoga props at home, a yoga mat, a strap (a belt or necktie could also be used) and an armless chair are recommended. If you have them, yoga blocks and a blanket are also helpful.

Online Mindful Yoga with Annie Moylan

This class blends yoga styles with an intention to keep bodies nimble and build on concepts of alignment for best body mechanics and movement that both strengthens and tones. Asana practice begins with a brief check-in and lasts for one hour.

Slow Flow with Leanna Heffner

This 75-min class incorporates several lineages of yoga based in modified versions of Ashtanga, yin, Iyengar, Baptiste, vinyasa, Dharma, and yoga therapy. Together we flow through a series of seated, kneeling, supine, balancing, and standing postures, often building to a peak pose or focusing on one aspect of the body or a particular alignment. Throughout the class, we move with our breath along various rhythms of flow, often spending several breath cycles in each pose, bringing awareness to our alignment and breath, and incorporating natural and healthy posture. This class will both invigorate, with the opportunity to challenge ourselves (safely) and channel a bit of fire, and also invite in cooling through release and deep renewal. Pranayama (breathwork), chanting, and yoga philosophy are often incorporated in addition to our physical asana practice. It is recommended to have blocks and a strap on hand if possible, and some prior experience with practicing yoga and a familiarity with basic yoga poses is highly recommended.

Online Gentle Yoga with Kristiann Maclean

This class is for students who appreciate a gentle approach to a full spectrum of yoga poses. All poses are approached slowly, with accommodations and versions utilizing props. A typical class includes more familiar seated, standing and supine poses in addition to something more, such as arm balances, inversions and backbends. More challenging poses are gently explored, and made accessible by the use of props. Familiar poses are held a bit longer, bringing yoga deeper within. Breathwork, anatomy and yoga philosophy are explored on occasion. Time and space is provided for strengthening the mind-body connection in this gentle class. This class is free and donations are graciously accepted.


Online Hatha Yoga with Amanda Mack

This traditional class begins with a yoga philosophy teaching and discussion followed by pranayama or breath work. Warm ups, standing and balance poses lead us toward a peak pose while also exploring a layered aspect of yoga philosophy or anatomy. Floor work and strength training are also incorporated. Props to have on hand includea chair, a strap or belt, a blanket, and, if possible, a couple of yoga blocks and a bolster.
